Ming-He Huang, MD, PhD - Board Certified in Cardiology and Internal Medicine

image aboutusDr. Ming-He Huang obtained his MD from Shanghai Second Medical School and PhD in Physiology & Biophysics from Dalhousie University in Canada. Subsequently, he completed his postdoctoral cardiovascular research training at Harvard Medical School. He then completed his Internal Medicine residency at the State University of New York and Cardiology Fellowship with honor at the University of Arizona. He has additional board certificates in Echocardiography and Nuclear cardiology. Dr. Huang is affiliated to the St Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Houston and Clear Lakes Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Huang currently holds academic positions as Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) and the College of Pharmacy at University of Houston. He has contributed significantly to cardiovascular medicine with numerous publications in highly regarded medical journals. He discovered Intrinsic Cardiac Adrenergic Cells in the heart in 1996. His research was supported by the American Heart Association and National Institutes of Health (NIH). Among many achievements, he was a finalist of the prestigious Melvin L Marcus Young Investigator Award in Cardiovascular Science from the American Heart Association.

With over 20 years of comprehensive experience in patient care and clinical teaching, his expertise includes diagnosis and treatment of wide range of common heart diseases as well as highly complex cases. These include coronary artery disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes related heart diseases, chest pain, chest pressure/chest discomfort, palpitations, irregular heart rhythm, shortness of breath, heart failure, valvular disease and chemotherapy-induced heart damage.

Dr. Huang provides special heart disease screen and consult service to adolescence with or without active sports participation. Such service can detect congenital and/or inherited heart disease. Furthermore, he offers preventive heart disease consult. He is well liked by his patients of all social, ethnic and economic backgrounds.


Hong Hu, RDCS

Hong is an 18-year certified echo cardiographer by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. She was trained at New England Medical Center of Tufts University Medical School in Boston, MA. Throughout her 18 years of experience, she worked in several major medical centers such as Harvard Medical School teaching hospitals and the Methodist Hospital in Houston. Her broad experience in complex heart pathology, solid technical skills, and love of helping others have certainly gained the trust of her patients. The thoroughness of her studies has been greatly appreciated by her patients and the cardiologists who worked with her.
